Purchased the Rega Ania MC Cartridge to help replace two old/worn tipped Ortorfon MC`s. The Ortofon`s had served me very well in their time & I pondered quite a while on my next cart/s. So I purchased two different carts this around & one was the Ania. Fitting is really easy,no fiddly nuts, screws fix straight into the Ania`s body &,if your`re using a Rega arm,you have their "three point" fixing using three screws to locate the cart into the arm.
Sound:
I`ve currently put about 30hrs on the Ania & can report that it IS a very neutral sounding & revealing so,fairly flat responses across all three musical spectrums(H,M,L) in saying this, the Mids are it`s "real" strengths!
The "BIGGEST" improvement I`ve notice is something I haven`t read & that is,surface noise...it`s practically zero & remember, this cart is not broken in yet(in my opinion, probably 50hrs would be the mark) .One more thing,I did have to change back to a felt mat as,my cork mat just sounded to "hard & edgy" with the Ania.
Conclusion:
The will only get better over the next 20hrs(or so)&,is already a top draw mc cart,I`ll update if things change for the worse.
Recommended five stars,buy with confidence.
