A lot has been said, thought and written about one of the most enigmatic characters that David Bowie brought to life. The most popular one says Alladin Sane, a wordplay with “A lad insane” is a reference to schizophrenia, which ran in his family through his half brother Terry. Some might say the thunderbolt splits the man, as he felt split between the good and the bad that came along with the worldwide recognition and stardom he achieved after “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the spiders from Mars”.
Maybe it’s a reference to split personality, from the man with a thousand faces. Maybe it means nothing at all. But by now, it’s history.
