Stereo Socks - PhD in Reality. Black Sabbath inspired Socks supplied in a Stereo Pair (L and R)
At the age of 17, Tony Iommi suffered an accident that would change his life and the sound of Hard Rock music, forever. With the tips of two of his right-hand fingers severed, playing the guitar became much harder, but that didn’t stop him from becoming one of the most respected and influential guitarists of the century.
In their 1971 record “Master of Reality”, Iommi decides to tune down his instrument for some of the songs, to make the string tension on his fingers easier to play. This deeper sound became the cornerstone of Doom Metal, and some might say, even Grunge and Stoner Rock.
In the first editions of the Vinyl, the name of the album was printed in black over black, making it only visible by touch, as it came in relief.
